Jairo Daniel Antunez was born in New Orleans in the 70's. At a very young age, he showed potential of being involved in some level of the music ministry. His parents were regular singers at the local church they assisted and some of that rubbed off on Jairo's personaltiy. At the tender age of 2 he performed a song entitled "Los Arboles Se Mesen". At the age of 13, he figures out how to play piano by experimentation and dedication. By the age of 18 he began to play the guitar, all while participating vivdly at his local church events.
By the time Jairo reached young adulthood, he noticed a gift of composing. He turned to the genre of Spanish ballads and began a quest to get known. It was until a participation of the Latin New Orleans Talent Show, held by Cervantes School of Performing Arts, in summer of 2001 that he had the opportunity to get known to the community. After qualifying the elimination rounds and having gone to the finals, Jairo was invited on a special international television segment of Sabado Gigante to perform in front of thousands with the opportunity to be discovered and signed to a record label.
Preparations were being made for filming at the Ponchatrain Center in Kenner, LA for the 13th of September, 2001. As you may recall, the events of September 11, 2001 devastated the country and because of these acts the program was postponed for a later date. After waiting a couple of months, Jairo recieved the urge to join the United States Navy and on March 2002 that's what he did. While in basic training, he recieves a letter stating that the filming had a date and if he would be available. This was not an option as he was in his early stages of bootcamp with no liberty. After much contimplation, Jairo regrouped his thoughts and came to a conclusion inspired by God.
"Since I was in my mother's womb I was exposed to praising God through song from my parents. God blessed me with talent that no one showed or gave me instruction on how to do it. How can I even consider beginning a music venture and not have it praise God after cultivating my voice and skills for so many years? I proudly serve God and dedictaed this music ministry in hopes of attracting people closer to God. He is the reason I am who I am." Jairo Antunez
Since his debut album released in July 2005, entitled "Jesucristo Es Tu Amigo" he hasn't looked back. He now brings us his 3rd production entitled "Cambia Mi Ser" where he shares his life testimony through song and inspires his listeners to be closer to God.
Recently, Jairo has caught interest in producing other Christian singers, musicians, poets, and preachers that are interested in recording and spreading the good news through the arts.
